Ergh! Don’t you just hate body hair? Always growing where it shouldn’t be. When it comes to getting rid of unwanted hair there’s a lot you can learn from looking in your garden.
I had a dear uncle who was a landscape gardener & he taught me the difference between flowers & weeds. You see it doesn’t matter how pretty it is, how thick & strong & healthy it is, if it’s growing somewhere you don’t want it, it’s a weed.
It’s the same with body hair. It amazes me sometimes when I’m having a bad hair day & I can see my brittle looking split ends, that the hair on my legs still seems to look strong & the whiskers on my chin are still sprouting…well, like weeds.
Hairs are just like weeds because on your head (& for guys maybe your chest & your chin) you want them to grow in abundance & to flourish with as little maintenance as possible. Anywhere else they’re a complete nuisance causing discomfort & loss of self confidence.
Just like weeds, you get rid of your unwanted hair in a number of ways. You can use physical hair removal methods, pulling them out by the roots as it were. Physical methods of pulling out the whole hair (also known as epilation) include tweezers & unsurprisingly epilators.
You can also use a physical method to chop your hair (weed) off at ground (skin) level which is known as depilation. Manual & electric razors & microdermabrasion techniques are some of the depilation methods that you can use.
Then of course there’s weed killer which is equivalent to the chemical methods of hair removal like depilatory creams such as Nair & Veet. If they suit you then hair removal cream can leave your skin soft & silky & you can deal with large areas in one go. While some people swear by them, depilatory creams can be messy, smelly & if you have particularly sensitive skin then sometimes painful. Always make sure that you do a patch test before you use any chemicals on large areas of your skin.
All the above ways to get rid of unwanted hair are temporary, some more so than others. A procedure that pulls hairs out by the roots will last longer than one that only trims it at skin level because the hair below the surface remains. If you have your heart set on permanent hair removal then you need more information on what is involved & who is & isn’t suitable for each particular procedure.
This isn’t really an educational video, but it does make me realise that although I consider that I have a problem, it could be a whole lot worse.
Now if body & facial hair doesn’t bother you then that’s great. It’s really really great & I salute you (although I am a little curious as to how you found yourself here on a site dedicated to all things hair removal).
On the other hand if it does bother you then take some time to browse around the articles & learn more about the different methods of hair removal that are available to you.
Wishing you every success in getting rid of unwanted hair.
